| Begun in 1991, this annual event hosts thousands of local and out-of-town visitors to the downtown square for a "Norman Rockwell" evening of Patriotic Music provided by the 55-piece Northeast Texas Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Doug Bakenhaus. In the shadow of the historic Hopkins County Courthouse, rousing Sousa marches, popular show tunes and the finale --- "Stars & Stripes Forever" create a true patriotic fervor among those attending as the huge fireworks display, provided by Sulphur Springs Vision Center, De Haven Eye Clinic and Dr. Jeff Russell explodes overhead. |
