Near perfect weather prevailed at the 19th Annual, Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce golf tournament which took place on Friday, April 11th at the Sulphur Springs Country Club. Thirty- five, six person teams were registered for the event.  Winners of the various contest holes include the following; Nick Walker made the longest putt on hole # 16; Dustin Freeman was closest to the hole on # 8; The longest drive by a male player on hole #11 was made by Cade Stone and the longest drive on #11 by a lady was made by Mistie Davison; Chris Haupt hit closest to the pin on hole # 14.

Rep. Mark Homer won the "chip the ball in the stew pot" contest. 

The Guaranty Bond Bank team finished with the best poker hand in the poker game which is played by randomly drawing a playing card at each of several locations on the course.

Third place low gross scoring team was the Medicine Chest Pharmacy team, comprised of Oscar Medelline, Randy Blackmon, Jones Roberts, Cliff Whitney, Lynn Mills and Jerry Womack. 

Second place low gross team was the Brad Drake Construction team comprised of Chuck Vititow, Brian Collard, Brent Barkley, Eddy Morton; Jason Rabe and Jarred Pickett.

The First place low gross team was the Diamonds-N-Designs team consisting of Kevin McDaniel, Keith Strickland, Josh Jones, Chris Haupt, Dustin Freeman and Chris Horn.

Third place low net scoring team was the Eternity Creations team comprised of Sam Stewart, Cody Stewart, Garry Davidson, Misty Davidson, Charlie Walker and Pat Stevens.

Second place low net team was the Grocery Supply Team comprised of Steve Rutherford, John Prickette, Patrick Blanchard, Bobby Brown, Fred Miller and David Watson. 

First place low net team was the Star Country 95.9 team comprised of Bud Kitchens, Craig Morgan, Will Massey, Ken Brown, Richard Ross and Chuck King.

Door Prize winners at the tournament include Patrick Blanchard who won a Ruger Charger .22 pistol with laser sight; Gary Davidson won the $500 WalMart gift card and Chuck Askins won a guided fishing tour provided by Lake Fork Marina and Motel.

 
Held at the eighteen-hole Sulphur Springs Golf and Country Club, this six-person "scramble" is always a fun-filled event with all sorts of contests being held concurrently with the tournament, including prizes for "closest to the hole", "longest drive", "longest putt", "dice" game and "poker" game, just to name a few.
 
Over 200 golfers participated in this years Chamber Golf Tournament at Sulphur Springs Country Club.
