2nd Place winner in the Super Scoop category, Billy Jack Allen

After years of celebrating the importance of the Dairy Industry with the Hopkins County Dairy Festival which includes a parade, street dance, queen contest and hot air balloon rally, the Chamber of Commerce added the Texas State Champion Homemade Ice Cream Freeze-off in 2000.  The event has become a favorite event amongst the local folks, and has also been featured on the Food Network's "All American Festivals".

The Ice Cream Freeze-off is always held on the second Saturday of June and Festival-goers may get a bowl and have all-you-can-eat ice cream for just $3.00!
